Evolution Mining has taken out the Miner of the Year award at the Mining 2015 Resources Convention in Brisbane.

Evolution Mining owns and operates seven gold operations in Australia, four of them in Queensland – Pajingo, Mount Rawdon, Mount Carlton and Cracow.

“I congratulate executive chairman Jake Klein, chief operating officer Mark Le Messurier and their team on winning this prestigious award,” said Queensland Resources Council chief executive Michael Roche.

Hammer Metals won the award for Explorer of the Year for its success in exploring large copper-gold deposits in the Queensland’s north-west.

“These awards demonstrate the resilience and diversity of Queensland’s resources sector, as well as the high prospectivity of our state,” Mr Roche said.

“They also remind us of the resource companies out there which contribute heavily to Queensland’s prosperity.”
